The Ion Grenade was an anti-droid weapon utilized by the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, deployed by clone troopers operating speeder bikes against Separatist forces. Visually, the weapon differed from traditional spherical droid poppers by featuring a flat metallic core disc engineered with radial conductive ridges and a bolt-fastened perimeter. Upon activation or striking a target, the device acted as an ion energy emitter, unleashing a field of crackling, jagged translucent blue ionized particles. This electromagnetic wave specialized in neutralizing automated threats, overloading shields, disrupting the circuits of battle droids, and disabling the electrical sub-systems of vehicles. |
